Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Control Gatehouse in Sparrows Point, MD , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location, supporting access control and daily security-related operations. You will greet employees and drivers, verify credentials, manage visitor logs, and monitor activity to help reduce incidents. You will also conduct routine patrols and maintain a professional, visible presence while providing strong customer service and clear communication. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and drivers by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Control access at gates and entry points by verifying identification, issuing temporary credentials as directed, maintaining visitor and vehicle logs, and coordinating entry and/or exit with site contacts.
• Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems, reporting unusual activity and documenting security-related events per post orders.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate parties and completing required reports.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
