About The Position

As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Access in Eden, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor entry points, confirm credentials, manage visitor check-in, and document security-related activity using a computer and/or tablet. You will stay visible, conduct routine rounds nearby, respond to questions with helpful customer service, and communicate clearly with site contacts. At Allied Universal, you will act with integrity while supporting a caring, agile, reliable, innovative team.

Requirements

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, employees, and/or visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as needed.
• Control access at entrances, loading areas, and/or employee-only locations by verifying identification, managing sign-in logs, and directing authorized visitors to the appropriate destination.
• Monitor doors, gates, and other access points for unauthorized entry and help to deter policy violations through presence and professional communication.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and notifying site contacts and/or emergency services when appropriate.
• Complete detailed reports, visitor records, and shift activity logs, and communicate security-related information to oncoming personnel and site representatives.
