Security Officer - Access Control Specialist
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Access Control Specialist in Florence, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, monitor alarms and cameras, and document security-related activity using a computer and/or tablet. You will provide clear directions to drivers, visitors, and employees while helping to deter unauthorized access and loss. Requirements
- Have at least 2 years of security experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
- Have loss prevention experience, preferred.
- Have CPR certification, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities.
- Control access to a logistics and distribution location by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, managing entry and exit points, and documenting deliveries and pickups per post orders.
- Monitor CCTV, alarm panels, and/or access control systems; report irregular activity and complete required logs and incident reports.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site management and/or emergency services as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, loading areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
