As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers, employees, and visitors while managing entry and exit points, checking credentials, issuing badges, and logging activity. You will conduct routine patrols of nearby areas, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with site teams. Requirements

  • At least 1+ years of security experience is required.
  • A TSA issued TWIC is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and staff by following site-specific access control procedures, verifying identification, issuing badges, and directing traffic at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Monitor and control entry and exit points for vehicles and pedestrians, help to deter unauthorized access, and maintain accurate logs of visitors, contractors, trailers, and deliveries.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, perimeter, parking areas, and dock or yard areas to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including dispatching notifications, documenting events, and supporting emergency response activities as directed by site policy.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems and equipment such as access control panels, radios, cameras, and alarm notifications, and complete detailed reports and shift handoff information.
