About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Gate Driver in Ladson, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Auto, and more. Join Allied Universal at a premier automotive location as an Access Control Officer. You will help manage entry points, support badge operations, greet employees and visitors, and provide clear communication and customer service. You will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, using computer or tablet tools as needed. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access control requirements, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at vehicle and pedestrian entry points by checking identification, authorizations, badges, and/or credentials for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Manage visitor processing by issuing temporary credentials, maintaining logs, coordinating with site contacts, and directing arrivals to appropriate locations within the automotive facility.
  • Monitor and respond to access alarms, gate and door issues, and other incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner while communicating updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, parking areas, production and warehouse perimeters, and other designated areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
