About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Point Monitor in Fort Lauderdale, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. Join Allied Universal at a residential community where you will manage access control, monitor entrances and common areas, and perform routine patrols to help reduce security-related incidents. You will greet residents and guests, verify credentials, document activity using a computer and/or tablet, and communicate clearly with your team. Requirements

  • Have at least 5 years of security-related experience.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have customer service experience preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and/or deliveries by following Allied Universal procedures and site-specific policies at a residential community access point.
  • Control access by verifying identification, authorizations, and visitor logs, and by issuing and collecting visitor passes and/or credentials as directed by post orders.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, observe for unusual conditions, and report concerns promptly to site management and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating emergency response activities when appropriate and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, entry points, and perimeter locations as assigned, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
