You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to calls for service, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while documenting activity using a computer and/or tablet. Requirements

  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned areas, including building interior, exterior grounds, and perimeter, documenting observations and reporting unusual activity.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site representatives and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Control access to restricted areas by verifying identification, monitoring entry points, and directing pedestrian and vehicle traffic in accordance with post orders.
  • Maintain required firearms qualifications and follow all use of force, weapons handling, and incident reporting requirements, completing detailed reports and maintaining logs as required.
