You will bring your armed guard card or license and a customer-service mindset while supporting patients, visitors, and staff. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, corridors, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or hazardous conditions; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, managing disruptive behavior, and supporting clinical staff as directed by post orders.
  • Control access at designated entrances and restricted areas, verify credentials and/or visitor authorization, and monitor for prohibited items in accordance with site policies.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems and communications, document incidents and patrol activity, and handle assigned firearm and equipment in compliance with Allied Universal guidelines and applicable laws.
