As an Armed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and calls for service with calm, professional communication. You will document observations, assist staff and visitors with customer service, and coordinate with site leadership and local responders. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security experience.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License. A Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Perform armed post duties in accordance with licensing requirements and Allied Universal and/or site policies, including maintaining control and accountability of issued equipment and reporting any concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and actions and notifying site contacts and/or public responders as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, parking areas, and the perimeter, monitoring for unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized access and/or prohibited behaviors.
  • Control access points by checking identification and/or authorization, assisting with visitor directions, and reporting access issues, hazards, or policy violations through established communication channels.
