As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance, document activities, and communicate with staff and visitors while delivering strong customer service. Allied Universal supports agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity every shift. This is an armed post requiring an armed guard card and/or license.

Requirements

  • Have 3+ years combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Provide a DD214 with honorable discharge or an associate degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points, noting and reporting unusual conditions that may help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site representatives and/or public agencies as needed.
  • Control access at designated posts by verifying credentials, monitoring entry and exit points, and directing visitors according to site requirements.
  • Complete routine documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and shift activity reports, and communicate relevant information during post handoff.
