About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Perimeter Driver in Pompano Beach, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support visitors and staff with clear communication and customer service. This is an armed, driving post requiring a valid driver’s license and armed guard card or license. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Have 1 or more years of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Have an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have a DD214 with honorable discharge OR an associates degree and/or 60 college credits OR a police academy certificate OR a corrections academy certificate.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to facility staff and visitors by following site-specific, security-related procedures, access control requirements, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and promptly communicating updates through the chain of command.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of government buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas, noting unusual conditions and reporting concerns per site protocols.
  • Monitor entry points, restricted areas, and security-related systems, and verify identification and/or credentials in accordance with post orders.
  • Complete routine reports, incident logs, and required check-ins, and coordinate with authorized personnel during scheduled activities, special events, and/or operational changes.
