About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Rapid Response in Miami, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government transit location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle-area patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support riders and staff with clear communication and customer service. You will document observations, respond to calls for assistance, and collaborate with site partners using integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach, backed by Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, and innovative culture.

Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at government transportation facilities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of stations, platforms, parking areas, vehicles, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or suspicious conditions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and coordinating with law enforcement and/or site leadership as needed.
  • Control access to restricted areas, verify identification and/or credentials, and monitor entry points and public areas in accordance with post orders.
  • Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity in detailed reports, and maintain required equipment and firearms handling practices in compliance with Allied Universal policies and applicable regulations.
