Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Welcome Desk in Jacksonville, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Transportation, and more. As a Front Desk Security Officer with Allied Universal at a busy transportation location, you will greet visitors, verify access, manage check ins, monitor cameras and alarms, and help document incidents and requests. This is an armed post requiring an armed guard card or license. You will represent a caring culture that puts people first while supporting an agile, reliable, innovative team that delivers through teamwork and acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • An Armed Guard Card/License is required.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of law enforcement, military, and/or corrections experience is required, or a college degree is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a transportation location.
  • Operate the front desk and lobby area, including greeting and directing visitors, answering phones, and communicating requests to appropriate personnel.
  • Help manage access control by checking identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining sign-in and sign-out logs, and monitoring entry points per site procedures.
  • Monitor CCTV, alarms, and other security-related systems from the front desk, documenting observations and reporting unusual activity according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, completing detailed reports and notifying Allied Universal leadership and/or site contacts as required.
