About The Position

As a Screener at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help support security-related operations by screening people and items, checking credentials, monitoring activity, and completing routine patrols of assigned areas. You will stay visible to help reduce incidents, communicate clearly with team members and site personnel, and document observations using a computer or tablet. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, drivers, and visitors by following security-related procedures, location policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen employees, visitors, and vendors entering controlled areas using approved screening methods such as ID verification, metal detection, bag checks, and/or package inspection in a logistics and distribution location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, shipping and receiving activity, and loading dock traffic; report unusual activity and help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and actions in reports and communicate updates to site leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, yard, and perimeter as assigned; check doors, gates, and restricted areas for signs of tampering and/or unauthorized entry.
