About The Position

As a Security Officer - X-Ray Screener in Lahaina, HI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener at a government courthouse location, you will welcome visitors, support orderly entry, and perform security-related screening using walk-through metal detection and x-ray equipment. You will verify credentials, manage access control and badges, communicate clearly with staff and the public, and document observations. Requirements

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors at a government facility by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Operate entry screening equipment such as walk-through metal detectors, hand wands, and X-ray systems, and complete required secondary screening when alarms, prohibited items, or policy concerns are identified.
  • Verify identification, manage visitor processing and access control, issue visitor passes when authorized, and direct individuals to appropriate check-in locations while maintaining a professional, courteous demeanor.
  • Respond to incidents, disputes, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, document activities as required, and communicate observations to site leadership and/or public officials as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random checks of assigned posts, entrances, and nearby perimeter areas as directed; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
