As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a university location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, greet students, faculty, staff, and visitors, and support a welcoming campus experience. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help discourage unwanted activity, and communicate clearly when responding to incidents, alarms, and service requests. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Staff access control points by verifying identification and/or authorization, managing visitor check-in and badging, and directing students, staff, and guests to appropriate destinations.
• Monitor and control entry and exit of people, vehicles, and deliveries, including logging activity and coordinating with site contacts regarding access issues.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and notifying appropriate personnel as required by post orders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, parking areas, and the perimeter, reporting unusual activity and/or hazards according to site procedures.
