About The Position
As a Security Officer - Distribution Center - Gatehouse in Garland, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer in a logistics and distribution location, you will support access control by greeting visitors, verifying credentials, managing entry and exit activity, and documenting security-related events. You will remain visible at key checkpoints, communicate clearly with site teams, and help maintain smooth operations. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, backed by an agile, reliable, innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1+ years of security experience is required.
- Be at least 21+ years of age.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and drivers at a logistics and distribution location by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Control access at entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining visitor and vehicle logs, and directing deliveries and pickups to designated areas.
- Monitor inbound and outbound traffic including trucks, trailers, and employee vehicles, assisting with gate operations and coordinating with site contacts regarding access authorization.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, initiating notifications and completing required documentation for security-related events.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, staging areas, docks, and perimeter areas as directed, reporting observed conditions that may help to deter unwanted activity.
