About The Position
As a Security Officer - Distribution Site - Access Control in Uniondale, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener in a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help support smooth operations by monitoring access points, conducting screening procedures, and completing routine patrols and checks. You will stay highly visible, communicate clearly with team members and visitors, and report concerns in a timely way. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site personnel, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Screen employees, visitors, and deliveries for authorized access using approved screening methods and/or equipment, and follow escalation protocols for prohibited items or policy violations.
- Monitor inbound and outbound traffic at entrances and checkpoints, verify identification and shipment documentation as required, and maintain visitor and screening logs.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting events, and supporting emergency personnel as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility, dock areas, trailer yards, and perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
