About The Position

As a Security Officer - Driver Field Patrol in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed, driving patrol officer supporting a critical utilities location. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, respond to calls for assistance, and document observations using a computer or tablet. Bring strong customer service and communication skills as you work with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and guided by integrity in a caring, people-first culture.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • The client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate updates to site contacts and/or Allied Universal supervision as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities, substations, parking areas, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and/or visitor authorization, and maintain visitor, vehicle, and/or delivery logs in accordance with site procedures.
  • Complete patrol, incident, and shift activity reports, and promptly report unusual conditions, alarms, and/or policy violations through established channels.
