About The Position

As a Security Officer - Entry Control Driver in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy manufacturing and industrial location where you will manage access control, greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, and track entries and deliveries using basic computer or tablet tools. You will remain visible at key points, communicate clearly with site teams, and help to reduce security-related incidents through consistent procedures and strong customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license per AU Driver Policy Requirements.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures and access control policies at entrances, gates, and/or lobbies.
  • Control access to the location by checking identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and verifying authorization for entry to production and restricted areas.
  • Screen inbound and outbound activity as required, including monitoring deliveries, coordinating with shipping and receiving, and reporting unauthorized attempts to enter, remove property, and/or bypass procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and/or emergency responders per post orders and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity, identify hazards or maintenance issues, and report observations per site policy.
