About The Position

As a Security Officer - Entry Control Driver in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry and exit points, and document activity to support security-related operations. You will conduct routine patrols and remain visible to help to deter incidents while delivering outstanding customer service and communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license per Allied Universal policy, supported by a caring, agile team that acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • Possess a TSA issued TWIC.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following post orders, access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Control entry and exit at gates and/or checkpoints by verifying identification, issuing temporary badges and/or passes, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and directing authorized individuals to the proper location.
  • Screen incoming and outgoing vehicles, deliveries, and contractors as required by site procedures, including inspecting credentials, confirming appointments, and documenting unusual activity to help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, radios, and other security-related systems, and report maintenance concerns, hazards, and/or policy deviations through the appropriate channels.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, completing written reports, and conducting regular and random patrols of assigned areas when required by the post.
