As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage site access by checking credentials, issuing badges, and tracking visitors and deliveries using a computer and/or tablet. You will conduct routine patrols and maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, while providing professional customer service and clear communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by following site-specific access control procedures, verifying identification and/or credentials, issuing visitor badges, and directing drivers, contractors, and guests to the appropriate check-in areas.
  • Control entry and exit at gates, lobbies, and/or dock access points by monitoring traffic flow, maintaining authorized entry lists, and documenting arrivals and departures for trailers, vehicles, and personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, trespassing, and/or unauthorized access attempts per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the distribution location, yard, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and to identify maintenance or operational concerns.
  • Complete routine documentation such as access logs, incident reports, and shift activity reports, and communicate security-related information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
