Job Description As a Security Officer - Gate Access Control in Sparrows Point, MD , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will staff access control points, check credentials, manage visitor and vehicle entry, and document activity using site systems. You will complete routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with clear communication and strong customer service. You will bring Allied Universal values through integrity, teamwork, and a caring, agile approach.
Requirements
- Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
- At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Control access to the industrial location by verifying identification, managing visitor check-in and/or badge issuance, and directing authorized traffic to appropriate areas.
- Monitor entrances, gates, and loading or receiving areas, reporting irregular activity and/or policy violations to site leadership per post orders.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with notifications, documentation, and coordination with first responders as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including perimeter checks and monitoring of restricted zones; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
