About The Position

As a Security Officer - TWIC Gate Attendant in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Allied Universal Officer at a chemical and/or petrochemical location, you will support access control by greeting employees and visitors, verifying credentials, managing entry and exit points, and maintaining clear logs and reports. You will also conduct routine patrols and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents, while delivering strong customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Possess a TSA issued TWIC.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification and authorization, issuing and collecting visitor and contractor credentials, and maintaining accurate access logs per site requirements.
  • Monitor and respond to alarms, access control system events, and radio communications, escalating concerns and/or irregular activity per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site contacts and emergency responders when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entry areas, interior and exterior access points, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or suspicious activity, with working environments and conditions that may vary by site.
