About The Position
As a Security Officer - Gate Control Driver in Baytown, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a utilities location, you will help manage site entry points, verify credentials, maintain visitor and vehicle logs, and support a professional, customer-focused check-in experience. You will conduct routine patrols and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, while communicating clearly with employees, contractors, and leadership. Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- A guard card/license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to all visitors, employees, and contractors by following site-specific access control procedures, visitor management requirements, and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
- Control entry and exit at designated access points by verifying identification, authorizations, and credentials, and by maintaining accurate visitor, contractor, and vehicle logs.
- Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy violations through established communication and escalation channels.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and documenting actions taken per site-specific protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, staging areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and support security-related operations.
