About The Position

As a Security Officer - Gated Community in Irvine, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will help manage access control by verifying credentials, issuing badges, and monitoring entry points. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, professional customer service. You will use a computer and/or tablet to document activity while supporting a caring, agile team that acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
  • Manage access control at entry points by verifying resident, tenant, employee, vendor, and visitor credentials, issuing visitor passes as directed, and maintaining accurate entry and exit logs.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and access control systems; report irregular activity and/or maintenance concerns to site contacts according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting emergency services when needed and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, garages, amenity spaces, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
