About The Position

As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Access in Front Royal, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy retail distribution location, you will greet team members and visitors, manage badge access, verify credentials, and help maintain smooth entry and exit flow. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols nearby, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly using a computer or tablet. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Guard Card/License is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and associates by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry and exit points by verifying identification, issuing badges and/or visitor passes, managing sign-in and sign-out logs, and directing authorized individuals to the correct location.
  • Screen inbound and outbound traffic, including delivery drivers and vendors, by coordinating with site contacts, confirming appointments, and helping to maintain orderly vehicle and pedestrian flow.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events, notifying site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision, and assisting with basic first aid when trained.
  • Complete detailed reports of daily activity, access control transactions, and incident response actions, and communicate status updates during shift changes.
