About The Position

As a Security Officer Patrol Associate in Salem, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic utilities location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence. Requirements

Proof of high school diploma or GED is required.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Alarm panel experience is preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a utilities location.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations according to site protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
Monitor access points, verify credentials when required, and document visitor, contractor, and/or vehicle activity in accordance with site guidelines.
Support facility operations by communicating with site contacts, following post orders, and completing required reports on daily activities and/or incidents.
