About The Position

As a Security Officer - Patrol, CPR Certified in Chesapeake, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech and communications location, you will monitor and patrol key areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and support access control and visitor badging. You will document observations, respond to calls for service, and provide standout customer service through clear communication. Requirements

  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or contractors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of office, lobby, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and/or access concerns.
  • Control access by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, issuing visitor passes, and directing deliveries and/or service providers according to site procedures.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs of daily activities, incidents, and unusual conditions, and communicate relevant updates during shift turnover.
