About The Position

As a Security Officer - Patrol with CPR in Oakland, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer supporting a major utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that may help to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, respond to calls for service, and deliver helpful customer service and communication to employees, contractors, and visitors. Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 or more years of security experience.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients at a utilities location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of utility buildings, yards, parking areas, and perimeter lines; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor access control points, verify identification and/or work authorization as directed, and help to deter unauthorized entry to restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting evacuations, traffic control, and coordination with site personnel and first responders as directed.
  • Complete timely security-related reports and activity logs, report maintenance hazards and/or suspicious conditions to appropriate contacts, and preserve incident details for follow-up.
