About The Position

As a Security Officer - Perimeter Checkpoint Driver in Rensselaer, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading healthcare location where you will support access control by greeting staff and visitors, verifying credentials, managing entry points, and documenting security-related activity. You will remain highly visible, conduct routine rounds, respond to incidents with clear communication, and deliver customer service that reflects our agile, reliable, and innovative culture. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license per AU Driver Policy Requirements.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a healthcare and research location.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor badges, managing sign-in logs, and directing authorized personnel and deliveries to the proper locations.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems, and report and/or document unusual activity, access issues, and policy violations according to site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and/or local responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including parking areas and restricted zones; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
