About The Position

As an unarmed patrol officer at a busy retail mall location, you will monitor and patrol common areas, parking lots, and exterior entrances, staying visible to help to deter security-related incidents and assist guests and tenants. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site contacts, and respond to concerns with a customer-first approach. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, backed by Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, integrity-driven teamwork.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, tenants, employees, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout common areas, corridors, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify unusual activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and contacting appropriate resources when needed.
  • Monitor access points and pedestrian traffic, provide directions and information to guests, and report maintenance hazards and/or suspicious conditions to the appropriate party.
  • Document observations, incidents, and patrol activity in required reports and logs, and communicate relevant information to site management and/or Allied Universal supervision.
