About The Position

As a Security Officer - Route Driver Patrol in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading tech data center location as an unarmed patrol officer. You will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, support access control and badge checks, and respond to alarms and service requests with clear communication. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Customer Service Experience - preferred.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience - preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a high-tech data center location.
  • Control access to the facility by monitoring entry points, checking identification and/or credentials, managing visitor check-in, and documenting arrivals and departures per site policy.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications, supporting evacuations, and completing detailed reports.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including building perimeters, loading areas, parking areas, and critical infrastructure spaces to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other site systems as assigned, investigate irregular conditions, and communicate updates to site contacts and/or Allied Universal supervision.
