Job Description As a Security Officer Driver Badge Screening in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location as an Access Control Officer in a driving post. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents while delivering outstanding customer service and communication. Guided by our agile, reliable, and innovative team, you will put people first, work with integrity, and support smooth daily operations.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and delivery drivers by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a busy logistics and distribution location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or delivery documentation, and help to deter unauthorized access to the location, yard, and restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, perimeter, parking areas, trailer yards, and dock areas, noting unusual activity and reporting security-related concerns according to site procedures.
  • Maintain accurate access records, visitor logs, and incident documentation, and support the orderly movement of people, vehicles, and/or shipments throughout the location.
