About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Parking Garage Patrol in Tampa, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support a professional flow of people and deliveries. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site contacts and your Allied Universal team, and respond to calls for assistance with integrity. You will thrive in an agile, reliable, innovative workplace that puts people first.

Requirements

  • A guard card and/or applicable license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, assistance to employees and/or visitors, and timely notification of site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of warehouse areas, loading docks, trailer yards, and perimeter points, checking doors, gates, and restricted areas for unusual activity.
  • Control access for employees, contractors, and drivers by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials and/or shipping documentation as required, and directing traffic flow in designated areas.
  • Complete required reports such as incident reports, patrol logs, and shift activity documentation, and communicate observations and handoffs to the next shift and/or site contacts.
