As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a shelter location, you will monitor assigned areas and conduct routine foot patrols, staying visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will assist staff and guests with clear communication, respond to concerns, document observations, and support day-to-day operations with a people-first approach. Requirements
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a shelter location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor access points, manage visitor and resident entry according to site procedures, and assist staff with crowd control and/or line management as needed.
- Document observations, incidents, and unusual activity in reports and logs, and communicate updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
