Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Route Checks in Brooklyn, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transit location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support riders and staff with professional customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting. Requirements

A New York State Security Guard License is required.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to the public and site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts and coordinating with supervisors and public sector partners as needed.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of platforms, concourses, entrances, stairwells, elevators, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
Monitor access points and restricted areas, check identification and/or credentials when required, and assist with crowd flow during peak periods and service disruptions.
Complete daily activity reports, incident documentation, and patrol logs, and communicate observations and hazards to Allied Universal management and site representatives.
