Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Route Checks in Brooklyn, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transit location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support riders and staff with professional customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting. Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to the public and site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts and coordinating with supervisors and public sector partners as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of platforms, concourses, entrances, stairwells, elevators, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, check identification and/or credentials when required, and assist with crowd flow during peak periods and service disruptions.
  • Complete daily activity reports, incident documentation, and patrol logs, and communicate observations and hazards to Allied Universal management and site representatives.
