About The Position

As a Security Officer - Utilities Entry Control Driver in Council Bluffs, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Allied Universal Officer at a utilities location, you will manage access control by greeting visitors, confirming credentials, logging entries, and supporting a smooth flow of people and vehicles. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with site teams while delivering strong customer service. Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by following site-specific procedures, access control policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Control access at entry points by verifying identification, issuing and/or tracking temporary credentials, and directing visitors to approved destinations.
Operate gatehouse and/or lobby access control processes, including checking vehicles and deliveries for authorization and completing required logs.
Monitor CCTV, access control panels, and alarm systems for security-related conditions and report irregular activity per post orders.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications and documenting actions taken.
Conduct regular and random patrols of utility facilities, buildings, yards, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
Perform routine checks of doors, gates, and restricted areas, reporting maintenance concerns and access issues through established channels.
Complete accurate written and electronic reports, including incident reports, daily activity reports, and pass-down information for shift transitions.
Support emergency procedures such as evacuations, severe weather response, and operational interruptions as directed by site leadership and post orders.
Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership, using radios, phones, and other assigned systems to coordinate responses and request assistance when needed.
