Job Description As a Security Officer - Visitor Screening in Philadelphia, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will welcome patients, visitors, and staff while supporting a smooth check-in experience. You will conduct entry screening, verify access, and help manage badges and visitor flow, while documenting security-related activity using a computer and/or tablet. Requirements

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following site-specific procedures and security-related policies at a healthcare location, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct entry screening activities such as greeting entrants, verifying identification and/or appointment information, observing for prohibited items, and directing individuals to the appropriate check-in area.
  • Monitor access points and waiting areas, maintain required screening logs and reports, and communicate screening concerns to clinical staff and/or site leadership per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, requesting assistance, and documenting events per Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entry areas, lobbies, and nearby perimeter spaces as assigned, helping to deter unauthorized access and/or disruptive behavior.
