Job Overview We are looking for a Full-Time Security Officer for our Second Shift (3:30 PM-11:30 PM) to provide safety and security needs for our nine-acre campus in Brighton, MA. We have seven buildings and 215,000 square feet of space. The buildings include 127 veterans housing units, 25 single-room occupancies at Veteran Housing at Brighton Marine, leased offices, medical space, Brighton Marine corporate headquarters, and extensive grounds. The Security Officer will provide professional security and customer service for commercial and residential environments. This Security Officer should have the following experience and knowledge, skills, and abilities: · Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner. · Ability to work in various environments such as cold weather, rain, snow, or heat. Ability to extensively patrol and climb stairs in normal and emergency situations. · Reliable and flexible when asked to work additional shifts outside of normal working shifts. May be asked to work overtime to fit the needs of the department. · Must be able to lift, carry, or move up to 30 pounds on a regular basis and 50 pounds on an occasional basis. · Through appearance, performance, and service orientation, project a consistent image that complements Brighton Marine. · High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required. · Intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology on site. · First-Aid, CPR, and AED training required or willingness to obtain certification. This position reports to the Security Manager and works closely with the Property Management Team. The ideal candidate is highly results-driven and a team player who can work independently and as a team has strong communication skills and has the ability to provide superb customer service. This is a full-time non-exempt position and requires flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
