About The Position

This is a Second Shift Position. Our Second Shift Officers work shifts that range from 12 PM -12 AM. Please only apply to this role if are willing and able to work during these hours. What you get to do: In this role, you will ensure the highest level of guest safety, security and satisfaction. You will serve in a number of key roles providing the professional demeanor and reassuring presence that gives guests and ambassadors peace of mind and enhances their overall park experience. Specifically, you will: Provide guests and team members with safe and secure environment Practice safe work habits, including the use of personal protective equipment Work security checkpoints Complete general security tasks Inspect all bags to prevent the introduction of contraband into the park Monitor all vehicles and employees entering and exiting the park Check ID cards and control vehicle and pedestrian traffic Complete security lockdowns after operating hours Perform routine foot and vehicle patrols Respond and provide aid for emergency situations Maintain order in large crowds and perform traffic control Testify in court when necessary Serve as the Park Dispatcher, Communications Center, and Emergency Operations Center Officer Work as Security Lead Officer or Officer in Charge (OIC) in the absence of an on-site supervisor What it takes to succeed: At least 18 years of age Must have valid Driver’s License AND a FL Class D Security License (Temporary Blue card not accepted) Three days of availability from 12 PM - 12 AM; must include at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) High school diploma or equivalent American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certification or able to obtain them Exceptional communication, interpersonal and multi-tasking skills Ability to maintain calm and order in high-pressure situations Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to work with large crowds in a fast-paced environment Ability to stand and walk for entire shift EEO Employer: SEAWORLD PARKS & ENTERTAINMENT IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER. Share the joy of entertaining children and other guests as a costumed character by greeting guests, shaking hands, posing for pictures, and giving hugs. Costumed character performers also act as a character escort to assist with guest interactions. Dancers - Demonstrate technical proficiency in a variety of styles including jazz, musical theatre, ballet, and modern. Partnering skills, break dancing, tumbling, tap, or other specialties are a plus. Dancers perform in multiple high-energy shows per day to connect with our guests and create memories that last a lifetime. Event Performers - Bring our special and seasonal events to life such as Event Host, Culinary Performers and Santa's Helpers. Instrumentalists - Proficient in percussion, brass, woodwinds or guitar. All instrumentalists should have the ability to play varying styles ranging from pop/rock to Motown to gospel and must be able to memorize music for shows and perform with great stage presence. Scare Squad - Enthusiastic performers, who are passionate about Halloween, to add fun and scary excitement to our award-winning Howl-O-Scream events. Vocalists - Great energy and stage presence who can demonstrate technical proficiency in a variety of styles including pop, rock, musical theatre, classical, contemporary, and a cappella vocal styling. Capacity to hear/sing harmonies is a must. Sight reading skills are not required but are preferred. Vocalists perform in multiple high-energy shows per day to connect with our guests and create memories that last a lifetime. How should I prepare for my audition? You will be asked to learn a dance combination and participate in improve and athletic stamina exercises. Costumed character auditions are based primarily on movement, non-verbal communication, and physical coordination. Please arrive early enough to stretch and warm up before the audition begins. Please wear form fitting dance attire that allows a full range of movement and tennis or jazz shoes. Please do not wear jeans.
