About The Position

Under direction, supervise the daily operation of the Security/Safety Department. Acts as a hands-on, in the field liaison with the Security Officers. Provides a safe and secure environment for Graton Resort & Casino to include Team Members, guests and vendors through active security operations and system management.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Four (4) years' experience in casino security or the law enforcement field preferred.
  • One (1) year experience in a supervisory position in a casino preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain BSIS certifications in the following: Guard Card, Exposed Firearm, Pepper Spray and Baton.
  • Must be able to pass a Gaming Background check, and have a valid California Driver's License.
  • Demonstrate the ability to plan, organize work and to train Security Officers in the performance of their duties.
  • Demonstrate and understand management's goals and objectives.
  • Advanced computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for practicing, supporting and promoting Graton Resort & Casino's Company-wide culture and demonstrating Graton Resort & Casino's Service Standards at all times.
  • Supervise, place and schedule security activities for the department as directed by managem ent.
  • Assign work to Security Officers and establish priorities.
  • Train, inspect and evaluate Security Officers for alertness, appearance and proper performance while on duty and correct deficiencies.
  • Assist in hiring, training, counseling and evaluation of department Team Members.
  • Respond to all non-routine incidents in a supervisory capacity, ensuring appropriate action is taken and notifications are made. Ensure all incidents are thoroughly investigated.
  • Conduct follow-up investigations on reports as directed.
  • Supervise and evaluate security reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain clear and open communication upward, downward and laterally as appropriate.
  • Interact with Team Members, Guests and/or the general public in a consistent manner and in the best interests of the organization.
  • Practice teamwork, support fellow Team Members and treat one another the way we treat Guests to create an energized, positive work atmosphere.
  • Give full attention to Guest opportunities, and take ownership of these opportunities to ensure Guest satisfaction.
  • Provide and create a Guest experience that exceeds Guest expectations and builds brand loyalty.
  • Assist in establishing, administering and evaluating department policies and objectives, including standards or performance.
  • Ensure Graton Gaming Commission Regulations and requirements are met and followed by all security Team Members.
  • In the event of a life threatening fire, shooting, flood or other disaster, the supervisor will coordinate the emergency activities including notification of police, fire, Director of Security and General Manager until the arrival of responsible fire/police department or executive.
  • Practice excellent grooming and uniform standards. Overall appearance is to be immaculate.
  • As needed, the Security Supervisor may assume the same duties and responsibilities as listed in the Officer's job description.
