About The Position

This role is based in our Newton, MA office. We are seeking an experience Senior Accountant to overseeing intricate accounting activities, maintaining precise financial records, and contributing to Informa Tech Target's financial reporting and compliance initiatives. This role includes managing month-end and year-end close processes, delivering comprehensive financial analyses, and providing guidance to junior accounting staff. The ideal candidate will possess advanced accounting knowledge, exceptional analytical abilities, and thrive in a dynamic corporate setting.

Requirements

  • CPA required
  • 4–5 years of accounting experience in an industry setting within a publicly traded, SOX-compliant company OR audit experience with a public accounting role
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Netsuite) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and other related analyses associated with monthly financial reporting requirements, including retention of proper documentation for journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Support the timely completion of month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing procedures including financial statement support preparation
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement automation tools to enhance efficiency
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data; review monthly and quarterly GL account variance analyses to support management with data-driven insights
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal company policies, implementing checks and balances to safeguard financial accuracy
  • Support the SOX program by ensuring internal controls are in place and operating effectively within area of responsibility; ensure risks are properly mitigated and issues are appropriately resolved in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and support business needs
  • Support other special projects as assigned
