We are currently seeking a Senior Associate for our Thermal Sciences Practice in Natick MA. In this role, y ou will perform failure analysis and provide design support for complex problems involving fluid flow, heat transfer, mass transport, combustion and electrochemistry. Applications will primarily be in vehicles, consumer electronics, utilities, fire and explosion investigation, power generation, medical devices, and many others. Specific duties will include conducting, planning, and executing experimental test programs, conducting fieldwork and inspections, preparing proposals and technical reports, presenting to clients, and starting the process of developing new clients.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Fire Protection Engineering
  • Presently legally authorized to work in the U.S. No immigration sponsorship or processing required.
  • Strong technical background in the thermal sciences and battery systems (e.g. vent gas and fire propagation, combustion, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and material response in fire)
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience (experience in technical consulting is a plus, but not required)
  • Experience in the design and analysis of thermal systems/processes in a professional or post-doctoral setting
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong skills in laboratory methods including the construction of experimental apparatus, instrumentation, data acquisition, and data analysis
  • Strong desire and ability to tackle a wide variety of engineering problems within and outside their direct areas of specialization
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License or willingness to obtain a PE
