The ideal individual combines strong program/project management expertise with practical, hands-on data governance experience, particularly in metadata, data lineage, and data quality.

  • Experience supporting data governance projects.
  • Financial services or regulated industry experience.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority, demonstrating strong facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with risk management practices (issue/defect coordination, policy adherence monitoring, controls testing, regulatory expectations).
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills; ability to translate technical and policy requirements into clear plans, deliverables, and executive narratives.
  • Proficiency with PM tools and collaboration platforms (e.g., Jira/Confluence, Smartsheet/MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, adept at concise, actionable status reporting and executive storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Lead wave execution across business lines, coordinating plans, timelines, dependencies, and delivery milestones.
  • Facilitate structured communication and collaboration across mutually agreed stakeholder groups (business, data governance, risk, audit, technology) to reinforce policy and standards of care expectations and requirements.
  • Drive adoption of data governance framework components, including RCSA controls, critical data element definitions, lineage diagrams, and data quality monitoring routines.
  • Produce weekly status reporting, synthesize updates across implicated teams, track progress vs. plan, surface blockers, and recommend mitigation actions with owners and due dates.
  • Manage risks, issues, and decisions (RAID) by maintaining logs, performing root cause analysis for delays or defects, and escalating as needed with clear impact/priority.
  • Support Data Governance Policy/Standard Adherence Monitoring by ensuring teams understand and implement required processes and controls, document evidence and outcomes.
  • Coordinate post-execution QC testing and sampling routines, partner with quality control teams to validate outcomes, and remediate gaps.
  • Align execution with enterprise data governance program routines (roadmap, wave governance cadences, project management standards) and contribute to continuous improvement of processes, risks, and controls.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-ready communications like dashboards, board/risk committee updates, strategic initiative status, and regulatory coordination artifacts
