Job Description The Senior Corporate Account Director, Market Access, is a highly strategic market access account management role responsible for achieving access, gross-to-net, and strategic contracting and partnership goals for Gilead's antiviral portfolio. This role will have responsibility for large national Commercial, Medicare, and Managed Medicaid payer organizations. These accounts affect the access and reimbursement of Gilead's marketed products in the USA. These accounts include integrated Mega PBMs and payors: OptumRx, United Healthcare and their respective GPO, Emisar. They make coverage decisions for members under direct management and have considerable influence through contracting terms and coverage decisions. These accounts and their downstream clients affect coverage decisions for a large % of US covered lives, making this Senior Corporate Account Director role key to the success of the US and global Commercial organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and Fourteen Years' Experience OR Masters' Degree and Twelve Years' Experience OR Ph.D. and Twelve Years' Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Fourteen years of Pharma or Biopharmaceutical industry experience, including account management or other market access functions.
  • Experience working with large, complex national accounts, negotiation, and direct contracting experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working with payors in HIV, PBC, Hepatitis, Oncology, and Inflammation is desired.
  • Strong leadership skills leading cross-functional teams in a matrix organization, with highly collaborative instincts and a track record of conflict resolution
  • Effective communication skills with a collection of stakeholders, including; account leadership, legal and commercial colleagues
  • Ability to travel approximately 50-60% (2-3 nights per week, average) for internal and external meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve access, gross-to-net, strategic contracting, and partnership objectives with Corporate Account customers; segments include all commercial and government business.
  • Develop and implement successful execution of pricing and contracting strategies to ensure access goals are achieved profitably and in alignment with market access objectives set in the brand POAs of US commercial business units; ensure accounts recognize the value of Gilead's products.
  • Core competencies include negotiation, strategic planning, contracting, and effective business to business interactions; the ideal candidate for this role must have experience demonstrating the ability to negotiate complex arrangements in a dynamic environment effectively
  • Engage with Corporate Account decision-makers, including C suite, to position Gilead as an industry leader, develop key relationships, and negotiate contracts; partner with Market Access Strategy, Market Access Operations, Strategic Account Managers, and brand teams to create and deliver approaches to strategically partner across these complicated vertically integrated accounts.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs and Market Access Strategy to compliantly develop an approved MA/PAQ corporate goal-aligned strategy for Mega accounts; account management and PAQ will separately develop and execute functional strategies and tactics specific to each area.
  • Collaborate with Market Access Strategy and Market Access Operations and cross-functionally with leaders in Marketing, Field Sales, Commercial Operations, and business partners in Legal, Medical Affairs, Finance, and Government Affairs to align on access strategies; provide execution support of each brand.
  • Work with the US Market Access Strategic Account Leadership to ensure effective positioning and pull-through of Corporate Account contracts; ensure that processes and tools are in place for account management teams to effectively collaborate with sales teams and others on pull-through of access positions.
  • Strong executive presentation skills are needed to present concepts and recommendations that require Executive Leadership support within Gilead
  • Provide active input and recommendations guided by payer insights to committees, teams, and processes, e.g., the US and Global Pricing Committees, Contract Development Team, annual Contract Guidelines process, and product launch teams.
  • Participate in a team culture that aligns with Gilead Core Values; model Leadership Commitments; manage to a high level of operational excellence; adhere to all Gilead business conduct policies.
  • Responsibly manage operating expenses within budget and provide relevant inputs for gross to net and revenue planning.
