About The Position

The Senior
Cost
Accountant
is responsible for
oversight of
all
aspects of inventory. Responsibilities
include but
are not limited to
monitoring and tracking inventory across various locations, cost analysis,
recording additions, deletions, and transfers of
inventory, and
accurate
reconciliation and
reporting
of
various inventory KPIs.

looking to grow with people who share that mindset. A strong candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently in a fully remote environment. This role requires someone who has solid follow-through on assignments and takes the time to understand the desired outcomes of each project.
You must be able to proactively manage competing priorities and actively communicate progress and blockers.

The interview process will both behavioral questions and skills assessment. Please be prepared to discuss specific examples of times you have proactively created analysis or processes within previous roles and what outcomes this drove. The excel and skills part of the interview will review large sets of data and how you are able to derive insights from that dataset. Candidates will be asked to build pivot tables and sort and filter data during the interview.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent
• 3–5 years relevant experience working in a similar role within an internal accounting team
• Direct experiencein cost accounting and inventory management
• Familiarity withgenerally acceptedaccounting principles as it relates to inventory and cost of sales
• Strong analytical skills and experience driving insights from large datasets in Excel
• Enjoy individual contributor roles, with a self-starter attitude
• Proficiencywith or the ability to quickly learn the organization’sAccountingsystems
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

• Experienceinhealth and wellness retail or manufacturingpreferred

Responsibilities

• Generate purchase orders and perform three-waymatchwithin accounting system. Reconcile and resolve any discrepancies.
• Utilize our accounting system to properly cost, transfer, and dispose of inventory and ensure accuracy of our cost of sales and inventory balances
• Prepare and review cost-related journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and adjustments
• Coordinate with management, shipping partners,warehousesand suppliersto orderand track movement of raw materials and finished goods at various locations.
• Maintainaccurateand complete reconciliationsand reporting of inventory, including inventoryroll-forwards, inventory on hand registers, andcost analyses
• Perform cost and margin analyses by productand make recommendations to improvemargins,andidentifyopportunities or issues with inventory levels.
• Develop policies, procedures and best practices around allrelevant inventory and costing procedures.
• Track, analyze, and explain cost variances; partner toidentifyroot causes and corrective actions
