Senior Counsel - Liability & Excess Coverage
About The Position
Clyde & Co is a global law firm that provides service to clients in its core sectors of insurance, transportation, energy, infrastructure, and trade & commodities. We are seeking a Senior Counsel with 8+ years of insurance coverage experience to join our rapidly growing Seattle offices. This practice represents domestic insurers with regard to coverage advice and litigation involving commercial general liability and excess policies. What you'll do: Analyze rights and obligations under insurance policies, draft coverage opinions, and provide coverage advice to clients. Conduct legal research, analyze findings, and draft memoranda. Prepare and analyze pleadings, discovery, motions, supporting briefs, and legal correspondence regarding insurance coverage litigation. Meet and confer with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties. Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations. Take a proactive role in managing matters, deadlines, and communication with clients.
Requirements
- Admitted to practice law in Washington.
- Has experience in insurance coverage and coverage litigation.
- Has excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
- Has strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Has the ability to simultaneously handle sensitive and time-sensitive matters.
- Has effective problem-solving skills.
- Has the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
