About The Position

The Senior Die Creation Technician is responsible for the technical preparation and development of dies used in the production of silver and precious metal products. This role focuses on translating artwork into production-ready engraving files, preparing and modifying 3D models, optimizing die designs for engraving, and supporting efficient die production processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in die creation, 3D modeling, engraving, or precision manufacturing.
  • Relevant education, training, or demonstrated technical skill may substitute for some or all the required experience.
  • Strong experience working with digital artwork and 3D modeling workflows.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to engraving and die preparation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Close Vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
  • Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
  • Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
  • Peripheral Vision (ability to observe up and down, left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)

  • Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring the object to sharp focus)

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design, 3D Modeling, or a related field. OR: Bachelor’s degree with 0-1 years of relevant work experience Associate’s degree with 1-2 years of relevant work experience Highschool/GED with 2-4 years of relevant work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with 3D modeling, digital sculpting, or similar design software. (Carveco, Z-brush, formlabs, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator)
  • Experience working with laser engraving systems or precision manufacturing processes.(Reactiv Rayguide, Acsys)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and modify digital artwork and 3D models for die creation and laser engraving.
  • Create frosting maps and adjust design elements to support product development needs.
  • Prepare and optimize files for laser engraving systems.
  • Operate and optimize laser engraving equipment for precision die creation.
  • Inspect dies for accuracy, quality, and adherence to design specifications.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to die design, engraving quality, or surface finishing.
  • Maintain inventory of die blanks and production supplies.
  • Order die blank, polishing supplies, and other materials as needed.
  • Perform basic maintenance and calibration on laser engraving and polishing equipment.
  • Provide guidance and training to Associate Die Creation Technicians.
  • Collaborate with product development and creative teams to ensure designs translate properly into production dies.
