About The Position

Responsible for leading and directing operations within the company's transportation and logistics departments. Ensures compliance, safety, quality, service and cost objectives are consistently achieved. Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities Leads best practices to the overall work processes, analytics, delivery methods, service and sustainability efforts as well as leading and executing cost savings projects across the network. Builds and maintains the overall strategic plan and associated deliverables for the transportation function, both domestic and international to include carrier strategy, mode, carrier type, systems / IT requirements, and fuel management Oversees the overall performance and management of TMS functions, including reporting, organization and system interfaces, carrier set-up (compliance and training), routing guide development, and custom reporting / dashboards. etc. Develops and maintains a distribution network strategy for all shipments aligned with business goals. Manages transportation budget and identifies cost saving opportunities and ensures operational efficiency of the department. Works with corporate and field teams to achieve synergies in efficient and cost effective transportation utilization principles. Manages processes that increase on-time performance, transportation network utilization and customer satisfaction. Integrates the flow of goods and information to optimize expense and service objectives and takes ownership for reporting tactical performance and goals. Nature and Scope Problems are complex and may be defined by higher level leadership. Solutions require high strategic level analysis and investigation. Drives strategy and methodology and serves as the subject-matter expert for policies and practices. Decides how to achieve planned results within an organization's plans, policies, and guidelines. Manages via multiple layers OR directly supervises a staff of professional individual contributors at the senior or technical advisor level. Directs budgetary responsibility at the enterprise level or for two or more businesses across the enterprise. Work Environment Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. Education and Experience Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 9+ years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management/supervisory capacity.
